🚨 HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT TUESDAY 🚨
Heads up, everyone! The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Tuesday from 11 AM to 8 PM CDT. We are looking at dangerously hot conditions across Southeast Missouri, East Arkansas, North Mississippi, and West Tennessee.
What to expect: Heat index values soaring up to 107°F due to a combination of high temperatures and intense humidity.
The Risks: Conditions like this make it incredibly easy for heat illnesses (like heat exhaustion or heat stroke) to strike quickly if you aren't careful.
Please take this seriously and look out for one another.
☀️ Stay Safe with These Quick Precautions:
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate: Drink plenty of water and fluids throughout the day—don't wait until you're already thirsty.
Find the A/C: Spend as much time as possible in air-conditioned spaces. If your home doesn't have A/C, head to a public library, mall, or cooling shelter.
Limit Sun Exposure: Avoid being outdoors during peak heat hours. If you must be outside, take frequent breaks in the shade.
Check on Others: Take a few minutes to check up on elderly family members, neighbors, and anyone vulnerable to the heat.
Don't Forget Pets: Make sure your outdoor pets have plenty of fresh water and a shady retreat, or bring them indoors.
Stay cool and stay safe! 👇 Share this to remind your friends and family to pack an extra water bottle tomorrow.
Know the Signs: Heat stroke is a medical emergency. If you or someone you know experiences confusion, dizziness, a rapid pulse, or stops sweating while feeling boiling hot, call 911 immediately.
