😎 Sunglasses, Smiles & Summerfest 🌞

Sunshine, live music, great wine (or so we heard), and one very important ingredient: officers on duty keeping an eye on the fun!

Our officers spent Sunday out and about at Summerfest, keeping an eye on the festivities, connecting with residents and visitors, and soaking up everything that makes Kennett Square such a great place to be. Between the crowds, conversations, and community spirit, there was plenty to smile about. Events like Summerfest provide a wonderful opportunity to connect with the people we serve outside of emergency situations and strengthen the relationships that make our community so special.

Thank you to everyone who stopped to say hello, share a smile, or simply wave as they passed by. We hope you had a fantastic time, and we appreciate your continued support of the Kennett Square Police Department.

A big thank you to Antonia's Pizzeria for stopping by the Kennett Square Police Department with a pizza box full of warm, delicious chocolate chip cookies! 🍪🚓

We truly appreciate the thoughtful gesture and support from our local businesses.

This is one of those times we wish pictures were scratch-and-sniff! The aroma of fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies filled the department, making an already thoughtful surprise even sweeter.

The Kennett Square Police Department is inviting community members to join us for Freeze Pops with the Cops, a fun summer event that brings neighbors and officers together in a casual setting.

Stop by on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Center Street & Las Rosas Drive to enjoy a free freeze pop, meet members of the police department, and spend some time getting to know the officers who serve our community.

This event is a great opportunity to chat with officers, ask questions, share ideas, or simply enjoy a cool treat on a summer afternoon. Our goal is to foster positive connections and open conversations in a friendly, welcoming environment.

Chief William Holdsworth said, "We're looking forward to spending time with residents and getting to know our neighbors a little better. Events like this give us a chance to connect outside of emergency situations and build relationships that help make our community stronger."

The event is free and open to everyone. Families, children, and residents of all ages are encouraged to attend, and no registration is required.

Beginning June 6, 2026, Pennsylvania drivers can be cited under Paul Miller’s Law for using a hand-held mobile device while operating a vehicle. During the past year, officers issued warnings as part of an educational period. That grace period has now ended, and violations may result in a citation and fine.

Under the law, drivers may not hold or use a handheld phone or other interactive mobile device while driving, including when stopped at a red light, stop sign, or in traffic. Hands-free technology, such as Bluetooth, voice commands, and mounted devices, remains permitted. Emergency calls to 911 are also allowed.

This law was enacted to reduce distracted driving and honor the memory of Paul Miller Jr., who was killed by a distracted driver in 2010.
