ditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), the public is invited to offer comments through CALEA’s new Public Comment Portal. The purpose of this comment portal is to receive public feedback regarding an agency’s compliance with CALEA standards, engagement in the service community, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for accredited status. CALEA encourages law enforcement agencies to adhere to strict best practices, guidelines, and procedures. Maintaining an accredited status is an important and significant accomplishment for the members of the department and denotes the quality of service the agency provides for the Kennesaw community. https://cimrs2.calea.org/91

One Community: A Juneteenth Celebration of Unity was a great day of community, connection, and celebration!

We started with a Unity Walk around Swift-Cantrell Park, followed by dancing, musical chairs, great food, Dunk the Chief, and plenty of smiles.

Congratulations to Detective Daniel Wood, who was recognized by the Cobb County Law Enforcement Association for his outstanding investigative work.

Detective Wood led a complex cyber exploitation investigation that began with one victim and ultimately uncovered multiple victims across several states. Through countless hours of interviews, search warrants, digital evidence review, and coordination with local and federal partners, Detective Wood helped ensure victims were heard and justice was pursued.

Due to Detective Wood’s investigation, the perpetrator was convicted in federal court of computer fraud, extortion, and cyberstalking.

His dedication, persistence, and commitment to protecting victims reflect the very best of the Kennesaw Police Department.
