Vanishing Kennesaw. The Baldwin House on Summer St was demolished sometime in the Tues/Wed timeframe this week. The demo was NOT approved or ever mentioned by the owner during discussions with Staff and the HPC as part of the COA review process or permitting process. The city has posted a stop work order until the details of the event and next steps are determined.

May is Preservation Month. The National Trust for Historic Preservation is celebrating with an event called This. Place. Matters.

We know why Kennesaw matters and we will be posting images illustrating this throughout the summer. Why does your place, site, or community matter?

Show us or tell us.

All Aboard the Spring Ramble. The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation Spring Ramble is coming to Kennesaw. April 22-24th. Well... Not entirely. We do have to share the spotlight with Marietta and Acworth, but no complaints here. The Ramble is an opportunity to spend time in each of the cities touring historic venues and interacting with those knowledgable of local history. This event is for anyone interested in history, architecture, and historic preservation. For more information visit http://www.georgiatrust.org/historic_sites/rambles/ramble.php

The Texas has arrived at the N.C. Transportation Museum! Good to know they'll be very careful with its restoration. We'll be sure to update you with progress along the way.
