As the heaviest rain bands from Tropical Storm Arthur move out of our area, the City of Kenner continues recovery operations across the city.
We have confirmed with Jefferson Parish and airport officials that all drainage pumps are operating at full capacity. While drainage systems performed as designed, some areas experienced up to six inches of street flooding due to intense, fast-moving downpours. We have also received reports of pockets of power outages throughout the city.
Our Kenner Public Works, General Services, and Recreation Department crews are actively working in recovery mode—clearing debris, monitoring drainage infrastructure, and addressing storm-related issues as conditions improve.
We appreciate the patience of our residents and remind everyone to use caution when traveling, avoid driving through standing water, and report any ongoing issues through the appropriate city channels.
Thank you to our dedicated city employees, first responders, and partner agencies who have worked throughout this weather event to keep our community safe.
