𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐌𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐂 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍?

Well, it turns out a few people recognized Abdelrahman Saad — or, as his students knew him, “Mr. Saad.”

An arrest warrant for Saad was applied for and approved by a 24th Judicial Commissioner after he communicated with an undercover detective assigned to the Kenner Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children lab (ICAC).

On August 15, 2026 during an undercover operation by the ICAC Lab. Saad engaged with a female he thought was 15 years old. The conversation turned sexual and inappropriate, violating state law. As a result of his actions an arrest warrant for indecent behavior with a juvenile was applied for and approved.

The Kenner Police Department posted his photograph and information along with several others on social media.

A Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer recognized Saad from the social media post, verified the warrant and took Saad into custody on August 29, 2026. Abdelrahman Saad, 34, of Gretna, was employed as a teacher at a local Jefferson Parish school.

Individuals who seek to victimize children can be found in places and positions parents may ordinarily trust. Access can come through social media, gaming platforms, schools, activities, mutual friends, or countless other avenues.

Parents: talk to your children. Ask the hard questions.Know who they are talking to. Know who they are spending time with. Know who their online “friends” are. Check their phones, apps, messages and social media activity. Please be involved in their digital and social lives. And most importantly, make sure your children know they can come to you — even when they are scared, embarrassed, or think they may be in trouble.

Some apps look innocent or even resemble common apps we all have, including the calculator app. Some apps tout parental controls, however they have work arounds or aren’t actually activated.

𝙆𝙀𝙉𝙉𝙀𝙍 𝙋𝙊𝙇𝙄𝘾𝙀 𝘿𝙀𝙋𝘼𝙍𝙏𝙈𝙀𝙉𝙏 𝙇𝙀𝘼𝘿𝙎 𝙈𝙐𝙇𝙏𝙄-𝘼𝙂𝙀𝙉𝘾𝙔 𝙊𝙋𝙀𝙍𝘼𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 𝙍𝙀𝙎𝙐𝙇𝙏𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝙄𝙉 5 𝘼𝙍𝙍𝙀𝙎𝙏𝙎, 𝙒𝙀𝘼𝙋𝙊𝙉𝙎 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙄𝙇𝙇𝙀𝙂𝘼𝙇 𝙉𝘼𝙍𝘾𝙊𝙏𝙄𝘾𝙎 𝙎𝙀𝙄𝙕𝙀𝘿

On Aug. 25, 2026, the Kenner Police Department led a proactive multi-agency operation aimed at disrupting criminal activity throughout Kenner, Jefferson Parish, and New Orleans.

Participating in the operation were the Kenner Police Department, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police, New Orleans Police Department, Major Crimes Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations Violent Gang Task Force, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. And yes, there was a helicopter involved!

An investigation and surveillance of suspicious activity in the 2500 block of Williams Boulevard resulted in the takedown of a vehicle and subsequent narcotics and weapons charges. Aerial surveillance showed the suspects observing law enforcement’s presence and discarding weapons next to a business before entering a vehicle and leaving the area.

Officers stopped the vehicle, and following an investigation, the occupants were charged as follows:

𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝟐𝟏, 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞, was charged with Illegal Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (Tapentadol).

𝐉𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐲 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥, 𝟐𝟑, 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐠𝐨, was charged with Illegal Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (Tapentadol); Fugitive from JPSO; and Fugitive from Gretna.

𝐓𝐲𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭, 𝟐𝟏, of Chalmette, was charged with Illegal Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (Tapentadol) and weapons violations.

In a separate investigation, Kenner Police officers had been attempting to locate a vehicle that had fled from patrol officers on several occasions. Due to traffic conditions and the speed of the offender, previous pursuits had been terminated for public safety.

With additional manpower and air support available during the operation, officers located the vehicle in Metairie and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. Aerial surveillance continued to monitor the vehicle as it entered New Orleans and eventually parked. The New Orleans Police Department moved in and arrested the driver, identified as Benny Rodriguez, a resident of Kenner. Rodriguez was arrested for Aggravated Flight from an Officer, Aggravated Obstruction of a Highway, Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Fugitive from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, and an ICE-ERO detainer.

During the operation, the Kenner Police Department Narcotics Division also conducted an investigation that resulted in the ex*****on of a search warrant on Duke Street in Kenner.

𝐃𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭, 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝:

• 𝟏𝟔.𝟐 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞
• 𝟏𝟑.𝟓 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞

Kenyon Wells, of Kenner, was arrested as a result of the investigation and charged with possession with intent to distribute narcotics.

These results demonstrate the importance of law enforcement agencies working together, sharing information, utilizing specialized resources, and supporting one another in the fight against crime.

The Kenner Police Department is proud to work alongside our local, state, and federal partners, including the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police, New Orleans Police Department, Major Crimes Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations Violent Gang Task Force, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

When agencies communicate, collaborate, and work toward the same goal, criminals have fewer places to hide.

The Kenner Police Department had a brew-tiful time joining the Kenner Business Association for Coffee with a Cop ☕️☕️

It was a fantastic opportunity to grab a cup of coffee and connect with the people who make our community so special. We always enjoy the chance to network with local business leaders, meet new faces, and building meaningful relationships throughout the Kenner community.

Events like this remind us that community policing is about more than just responding when something goes wrong. It’s about being present, starting conversations, listening, and building trust—one conversation (and sometimes one cup of coffee) at a time.

KPD SEEKING INFORMATION — VEHICLE BURGLARIES

The Kenner Police Department is investigating a series of vehicle burglaries reported in the University City and Grandlake areas.

We have received multiple reports and have seen numerous posts regarding additional incidents on social media. Detectives have developed a suspect and are actively investigating these cases.

CHIEF CONLEY ANNOUNCES FIRST MAJOR STEP IN ESPLANADE MALL ABATEMENT PROCESS

Today marks an important first step in addressing a problem that has burdened the City of Kenner and its residents for far too long.

Chief Keith Conley is pleased to announce that representatives for the ownership of the Esplanade Mall appeared in Kenner Mayor's Court today as part of the formal abatement process initiated by the Kenner Police Department.

Today's hearing was productive, and Chief Conley is encouraged by the discussions with legal counsel representing the mall's ownership. This is the beginning of a process aimed at finally addressing the dangerous and deteriorating conditions that have plagued this property for years.

When Chief Conley took office in 2022, he did so not only as Chief of Police, but as a lifelong public servant and resident of Kenner who has watched the Esplanade Mall go from one of our city's greatest commercial assets to one of its most significant public safety concerns.

Following Hurricane Ida and the eventual departure of City of Kenner government operations from the property, conditions at the largely vacant mall continued to deteriorate. Today, portions of the property contain broken windows, failed ceilings and building systems, unsecured access points, little or no interior lighting, debris, structural hazards and other dangerous conditions.

Those conditions have created more than an eyesore. They have created a public safety and public health concern for the entire community.

The building has become a playground for influencers who encourage criminal activity by posting videos of their criminal acts, encouraging “explorations” and profiting from the posts. KPD has arrested 4 such influencers and have a warrant outstanding for another.

Chief Conley and KPD became proactive due to the criminal activity involved and has been working with the Mayor and the City.

Since Chief Conley took office, the Kenner Police Department has responded to nearly 100 incidents involving the property. KPD's arrest count connected to the mall has now reached 83 physical arrests with 4 outstanding warrants and continues to climb, involving offenses ranging from unauthorized entry and trespassing to theft, vandalism and other criminal activity.

Every one of those incidents requires Kenner Police officers to respond to a massive, deteriorating building where failed mechanical systems, dark interiors, falling materials, broken glass, elevator shafts and other hazards can place both trespassers and the officers sent to locate them in danger.

Over the past several weeks, Chief Conley and his staff have taken the lead in identifying and documenting the conditions of the property, reviewing KPD's calls for service and arrests, identifying the responsible ownership and management entities, issuing formal notices of violations, and initiating the legal abatement process.

Today, that effort produced its first significant result: ownership came to the table.

The Kenner Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force recently conducted another undercover child exploitation operation. The previous two resulted in 38 arrests involving over 80 charges.

This recent bust resulted in 11 suspects facing child sexual exploitation charges. Six actual arrests with 5 warrants issued for arrests. They are facing a total of 20 criminal charges between them. Those charges are computer aided solicitation of a minor and indecent behavior with a juvenile.

These suspects made contact with an undercover detective they believed to be a juvenile while using a variety of dating apps/websites. The individuals participated in conversations and sent explicit images and messages to someone whom they believe to be a minor.

The Kenner Police Department started their ICAC lab early this year in conjunction with the Office of the Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill. The Kenner ICAC lab is also staffed by Louisiana Bureau of Investigations, St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security, St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office and others throughout the region.
