City of Kennedy

City of Kennedy Kennedy, population 193, is located in Kittson County in the north-west corner of Minnesota.

Kennedy was incorporated in 1899 and named for John Stewart Kennedy, a business man who helped finance the railroad around which the city grew.

🎉 Great news, Kennedy; the samples were NEGATIVE!! The Boil Water Advisory is now lifted. You are free to go back to using your water as usual. 🎉

Quick update today-the city's water samples were dropped off at the lab this morning shortly after 8:00 a.m. They need to sit in an incubator for 24 hours prior to being tested. We will have results back tomorrow morning. I hope to be able to lift the Boil Water Advisory then.

The water is back off. Unfortunately, the water may be off longer than originally expected and the shutoff could go into this evening. We apologize for the inconvenience.

NOTICE TO RESIDENTS:
Due to an unexpected pipe material being found late this afternoon, the planned water shutoff scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed and will not take place as planned.

At this time, the shutoff has been rescheduled for sometime next week. I will provide an update with the new date and time as soon as I have more information.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through these hurdles.
