We recently celebrated the graduation of several community members from Kenmore Police's 2026 Nurturing Trust workshops. These occur over the course of six weeks and are taught in Spanish. Topics include: drugs, positive parenting, gangs, and teen su***de. Top 10 once again!
Kenmore has received the distinction of being ranked the 7th safest city in Washington by Safewise for 2026, up from 9th last year.

Kenmore's continued high rankings for safety are a testament to the hardwork of our Officers, the community, the partnerships we have established throughout the city, and the investments in public safety made by the City of Kenmore.

May is bike safety month! Kenmore has invested significantly in facilities for bicyclists. But we are often asked about the legality of e-bikes, and where they can be ridden. Like any unsatisfying answer, our frustrating response is: it depends...

For clarification on the chart, class 1 and 2 e-bikes are allowed on the Burke-Gilman trail, per King County rules.

Even on a beautiful, calm Sunday morning, trees fall down...and they often take powerlines with them (as they did on 62nd Ave NE yesterday). Drivers need to be very aware of their surroundings and watch for downed lines before it is too late.

A few reminders from PSE:
*Assume all lines are energized
*Stay 35 ft from downed lines
*Do not attempt to move lines
*Do not drive over a downed line
*Should a power line end up on your vehicle- stay in your vehicle if possible and call 911.

You may have been caught up in the extended traffic delay yesterday morning on Bothell Way. Luckily, no one was seriously injured. Three cars were badly damaged, and one driver was arrested for DUI (over 3x the legal limit).

Unfortunately, impaired drivers are on the roadway at all hours of the day (even 11am on a Monday). Please be careful out there!
