Kenmare School Library & Ward Co. Branch Library invite students entering grades 1–5 to our Summer Reading Opportunities!
Join us every other Wednesday: June 3 & 17, July 1 & 15.
Drop off at 2:00pm at KHS and pickup at 4:00pm at the Ward Co. Branch. (If your child stays past 4pm, a parent/guardian must stay with them.)

What to expect:

Book choices matched to each child’s reading level
Summer book checkout + at-home reading activities
Transportation from school to Ward Co. Branch for program activities
Volunteers that your child will read to!

Funded by the Dollar General Literacy Grant.

📣 North Dakota is seeking input from parents, educators, students, and community members on responsible technology use in our classrooms.

State Superintendent Levi Bachmeier, alongside legislative and executive leaders, has launched a statewide survey to gather public perspectives on how technology can best support student learning. The survey is open now through August 1.

The survey asks participants to weigh in on topics including:
📱 Device use limits at the elementary level
🏠 Whether students should take devices home
🖥️ Monitoring software on school-issued devices
📅 Virtual instruction policies and make-up days

"Educational technology should be a tool, not a toy. Students, families, and educators want technology that supports meaningful instruction while reducing distractions from passive use." – Superintendent Bachmeier

Survey results will inform policy recommendations ahead of the 2027 legislative session, building on the success of North Dakota's phone-free schools legislation.

After 38 amazing years at Kenmare Public Schools, it’s time to celebrate Mr. Wallstrum and all he has meant to our school and community 💛

From the countless hours, the dedication, and the impact he’s made on generations of students — Mr. Wallstrum has truly been a cornerstone of KPS. His legacy will be felt for years to come 🌟

While it’s never easy to see them go, we are so grateful for the impact they’ve had on our students and school community, and we wish them all the best in their next chapter 💫
