๐Ÿšจ Prostitution Arrest / Warrant Arrest โ€“ Multi-Agency Quality of Life Investigation
๐Ÿ“… June 4, 2026

A multi-agency investigation targeting quality-of-life concerns led to the arrest of Phamela Torres of Newark, NJ, on prostitution-related charges.

The joint investigation, conducted by the Kenilworth Police Department and Union Police Department, focused on AJ Cosmetology, located at 720 Boulevard, following complaints and tips regarding alleged illegal activity occurring at the business.

Authorities allege that Torres solicited an undercover officer during a massage appointment. Torres was charged and released pending an appearance in Municipal Court.

During the investigation, officers also made contact with Terry Robert of Edison, NJ, who was found to have an active NCIC warrant. Robert was arrested on the outstanding warrant and remanded to the Middlesex County Jail pending a first appearance in Superior Court.

The Kenilworth Police Department encourages residents to report suspicious activity and quality-of-life concerns so they can be properly investigated.

Kenilworth Police Officers attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on a stolen 2022 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. The vehicle allegedly fled the area at a high rate of speed and eluded officers. The incident has been documented and remains under investigation.

Ptl. Paolella conducted a motor vehicle stop on a Toyota Camry in the area of Boulevard and North 12th Street. During the stop, the driver of the vehicle, later identified as Deandre G. Fordjour-Fieldhouse of Cranford, NJ, allegedly became combative and refused lawful commands before reentering the vehicle and fleeing the scene.

Ptl. Paolella continued following the vehicle while attempting to safely stop it. The vehicle ultimately came to a stop in the area of Boulevard and North 21st Street, where Mr. Fordjour-Fieldhouse allegedly again ignored officersโ€™ commands and acted in a combative and irrational manner.

Mr. Fordjour-Fieldhouse was ultimately detained and arrested. He was charged with two counts of Disarming a Law Enforcement Officer (Second-Degree Crimes), one count of Eluding Law Enforcement (Third-Degree Crime), and one count of Resisting Arrest (Disorderly Persons Offense).

๐Ÿ”ฅ Community Update โ€“ 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run

The Kenilworth Police Department is proud to again participate in the 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run supporting Special Olympics New Jersey. The mission of the New Jersey Law Enforcement Torch Run is to raise funds for and awareness of the Special Olympics movement while promoting acceptance and inclusion throughout our communities.

This yearโ€™s Torch Run will take place on Friday, June 5, 2026. Kenilworth Police Officers are expected to receive the โ€œFlame of Hopeโ€ from Roselle Park Police Officers in the area of West Colfax Avenue and Faitoute Avenue at approximately 12:30 p.m.

Kenilworth Officers will then proudly carry the โ€œFlame of Hopeโ€ along Boulevard and South 21st Street before handing it off to Cranford Police Officers in the area of North 21st Street and Passaic Avenue.

Residents are encouraged to come out and support this incredible event and the athletes of Special Olympics New Jersey.

Residents are reminded to use caution during periods of heavy rain and severe weather. Avoid driving through flooded roadways, as water depth can be difficult to judge and conditions may rapidly become dangerous. Secure outdoor items when storms are expected and monitor weather alerts when possible.

If you encounter downed power lines, flooding, or hazardous roadway conditions, avoid the area and notify emergency services immediately.

๐Ÿšจ Arrest Update โ€“ Residential Burglary Investigation

Following an extensive investigation conducted by the Kenilworth Detective Bureau, with assistance from the Union County Prosecutorโ€™s Office and the Newark Police Division Gang Intelligence Unit, two individuals were charged in connection with a residential burglary that occurred on December 31, 2025, in the 600 block of Fairfield Avenue.

The investigation revealed that two suspects allegedly forced entry into the residence while the homeowners were out of the country and stole a substantial amount of cash and personal property before fleeing the area.

On February 19, 2026, Quamir Hodges was charged by Det. Robert Rueger with Home Invasion Burglary, Employing a Juvenile to Commit a Criminal Offense, Theft, Weapons Offenses, and Conspiracy to Commit Burglary. Hodges was later arrested by the New Jersey State Police on a Kenilworth Police Department warrant and remanded to the Essex County Jail pending trial.

On February 26, 2026, a 16-year-old juvenile male from Newark was also charged with Home Invasion Burglary, Theft, Weapons Offenses, and Conspiracy to Commit Burglary in connection with the investigation.

Ptl. Riccelli and Ptl. Cascarano conducted a motor vehicle stop on a white Ford C-Max in the area of 505 North Michigan Avenue containing three occupants. Subsequent to their investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Ryan Billups of Tabernacle, NJ, was arrested and charged with one count each of Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, Prohibited Devices โ€“ Extended Magazine, Defaced Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm by a Minor.

Mr. Billups was processed and remanded to the Union County Jail pending an appearance in Superior Court.

The two rear passengers, both identified as juveniles, were each charged with Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, Prohibited Devices โ€“ Extended Magazine, Defaced Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm by a Minor. Both juveniles were transported to the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center pending appearances in Superior Court.

Kenilworth Police Officers responded to the 800 block of West Colfax Avenue on a report of a verbal dispute between two truck drivers. During the incident, one of the individuals allegedly brandished a handgun.

Following an investigation, Kenneth Weimer of Morris, Illinois, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Handgun and Prohibited Weapons and Devices. Mr. Weimer was processed and remanded to the Union County Jail pending an appearance in Superior Court.

Kenilworth Police Officers responded to the Garden State Parkway for a report of an intoxicated and suicidal individual who exited a moving vehicle and fled on foot into the Galloping Hill Golf Course.
Officers were able to quickly locate the individual and safely transport him to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Today, the Kenilworth Police Department was proud to support National Walk and Roll to School Day alongside our community partners and students. Officers walked with students from Borough Hall to Harding Elementary School to promote safety, healthy habits, and community spirit.

Thank you to our Patrol Division for assisting with traffic safety along the route and helping ensure a safe and successful event for everyone involved.
