The International Economic Development Council has granted accreditation to the Steuben County Economic Development Corporation, recognizing it as one of 87 accredited organizations nationwide and one of only two in Indiana. We were honored to be present at the announcement on Friday. Congratulations to Isaac and his team!

All of us at Region 3-A are saddened by the passing of Mayor Patty Fisel. She was a great leader for Ligonier and had a servant’s heart for her community. Her family is in our thoughts and prayers.

INDOT recently announced the recipients for the latest round of Community Crossings funding. There were 17 communites in our six-county region that received over $11 million to improve their roads. Congratulations to the communities that received funding!

We want to congratulate two of our counties for receiving Safe Streets and Roads for All grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation. Huntington County received $200,000 and Whitley County received $60,000. Each county will use the funds to develop comprehensive safety action plans with the goal of reducing fatalities and serious injuries on their roadways. Congratulations to both counties on receiving funding that will lead to improved safety!

Today INDOT and Governor Holcomb announced the Community Crossing grant awards for round two of 2021. We are pleased to see that 21 communities within the Region 3-A footprint received $10.8 million in funding for road projects. Congratulations to all communities that received funding!

Today Governor Holcomb and INDOT announced the awards through Community Crossings, a component of the Next Level Roads program. This program provides funding to communities for local road projects. Within Region 3-A’s area there were 22 communities that were awarded funding totaling just over $11.8 million. Congratulations to all recipients!
