Learning never stops at KVUSD! While our students enjoy their well-earned summer break, our teachers and administrators are hard at work investing in their own growth. Staff from Kelseyville Elementary School, Mountain Vista Middle School, and Kelseyville High School spent time at the AVID Summer Institute, soaking up new strategies and ideas to bring back to their classrooms. They're already planning ahead to make the 2026-27 school year the best one yet for our TK-12 students!

Kelseyville Elementary School's Student Body Council recently visited Kelseyville High School to explore the many opportunities available through the Agriculture Mechanics, FFA, and Horticulture programs. Students enjoyed learning from Mr. Zeni and getting a firsthand look at the skills, projects, and experiences these programs offer.

Thank you to Mr. Zeni and Mr. Jones for welcoming our KES students and showcasing the incredible learning opportunities available at KHS. It was a wonderful day of exploration, inspiration, and future career discovery!

Last night, the KVUSD School Board recognized two outstanding educators whose dedication has made a lasting impact on our students, schools, and community.

Congratulations to Renee Crook, kindergarten teacher at Kelseyville Elementary School, on being named KVUSD's Teacher of the Year! Renee's passion, kindness, and commitment to her students have made a meaningful difference in the KES community. As she prepares to begin a new chapter out of state this summer, we wanted to ensure she received this well-deserved recognition before her departure. Thank you, Renee, for the care, joy, and inspiration you have brought to our district. You will be greatly missed.

The Board also recognized Mike Jones, Principal of Kelseyville High School, for an incredible 34 years of service to KVUSD. Throughout his career, Mike has been a steadfast leader, mentor, and advocate for students. As he prepares to retire at the end of this month, we extend our deepest gratitude for the lasting legacy he leaves behind and the countless lives he has influenced along the way.

KVUSD is hiring teachers for the upcoming school year — and we're making it worth your while. New hires receive a $5,000 relocation stipend, credit for all years of prior service, up to $18,000 toward health benefits, and paid induction with a mentor teacher — at no cost to you.
