Did you know that Monday, September 7th, is California Biodiversity Day? What better way to celebrate than by exploring the ecological richness of Clear Lake State Park!!

Come join us this Thursday, September 10th, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM for a Bioblitz! Using iNaturalist, we'll be competing with other parks around the State to record as many different species of plant, fungi, and animal as possible. Participants receive FREE entry to the park!

We'll have a guided Bioblitz effort led by Park staff departing shortly after 10:00 AM. You are also welcome to join the effort on your own anytime between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM by using iNaturalist to record your sightings at the park. Hope to see you there!!

Tomorrow night, September 5th, come join us for a FREE evening of s'mores, campfire songs, skits, and trivia about our local flora and fauna!

Our guests of honor include Val Nixon, a retired Clear Lake State Park ranger, and Ginny Cholez, treasurer of the Clear Lake State Park Interpretive Association.

This free event will begin at 8:30 PM at the Educational Pavilion and adjacent firepit, across from the Visitor Center. Please bring chairs, blankets, refreshments, and bug spray. See you then!

Not sure of your plans this Saturday? Come join us for S'mores & Stargazing at Clear Lake State Park, featuring a special guest from Taylor Observatory!!

This FREE event will be held at the park's Swim Beach from 8:30 PM to 11:00 PM. We'll have s'mores available for you to roast over an open flame, telescopes to gaze at the heavens, and a guided viewing of the night sky's constellations. We expect shooting stars to still be gracing the night sky, courtesy of the Perseid Meteor Shower.

Please bring your own chairs, refreshments, bug spray, and a head lamp. We look forward to seeing you!!

Looking for things to do this summer with the kids? Join us Saturday mornings at Clear Lake State Park for our Summer Junior Rangers Program!

Every Saturday through Labor Day weekend, we will be meeting at the park's Visitor Center at 10:00 AM to take Junior Rangers on an adventure and learn about the natural, cultural, and historical resources available at Clear Lake State Park!

Topics will vary and may include orienteering, plants and animals, geology, and more. Best suited for ages 7-12. Bring good shoes and water, we'll be hiking! Feel free to message us if you have questions.

Please join us for a guided kayak tour at Clear Lake State Park!

The tour will depart from the boat launch near the marina at 9:00 AM on Saturday, May 16th, 2026. Park staff will lead a two-hour tour of the park's lakeside and riparian habitats and speak about our vibrant aquatic ecosystems.

Guests must bring their own kayak.

Coast Guard-approved life jackets are mandatory - we will have a limited number available.

Please bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and an adventurous spirit!

This event is most suitable for those ages 10 and up.
