The Kellogg School District is proud to announce that Nathan Whatcott has been named the new principal of Kellogg High School, official for the 2026β2027 school year. The decision follows a thorough interview process conducted last week by a dedicated nine-member selection committee and approval of the recommendation by the Board of Trustees at the June 9, 2026 regular board meeting. Whatcott will succeed in leading the high school after serving the district with distinction as the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment (CIA) since 2019.
For Whatcott, this appointment marks a meaningful homecoming. A proud 1992 graduate of Kellogg High School, he has dedicated 28 years to the field of education, including 21 years of impactful classroom instruction. His deep ties to the Silver Valley include years of teaching local students directly, having previously taught fifth grade at Pinehurst Elementary School and sixth-grade English Language Arts at Kellogg Middle school. This extensive background equips him with a deep understanding of the district's students, staff, and instructional goals.
Beyond his professional dedication, Nathan is deeply rooted in the community alongside his family. He lives locally with his wife, Tisha, and their two children, Reed and Coraline. Please join the Kellogg School District and the Board of Trustees in congratulating Mr. Whatcott as he steps into this vital leadership role to guide the next generation of KHS graduates.
