AFA Atmore, AL (marriage conference and Sunday morning), 11. Dinner with Dr. A and Dan Bell (founders of OPTAVIA), 12. Awaken conference in Dallas, 13. Women's online gathering for in Ft. Lauderdale! Is “Posessions” killing your “Breath”?

This is the enemies plan from the beginning. We all know the story of Cain killing Abel. Why? The bible says Abel brought an acceptable offering to the Lord.

POSSESSION KILLED THEIR BREATH

THE FIRST FAMILY- Adam and Eve named their sons Possession and Breath!

SON 1 (GENESIS 4:1) - Cain “QAYIN”- His name means POSSESSION, or to OBTAIN!

SON 2- (GENESIS 4:2) Abel “HEVEL” whose name means BREATH, V***R, SOMETHING FLEETING

Genesis 4:8 (NIV), “Now Cain said to his brother Abel, ‘Let’s go out to the field.’ While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.”

Possessions have the power to kill your breath. I would rather breathe than be owned by debt and passions.

Possessions also causes you to kill the GIVERS SPIRIT! (Cain killed Abel)

Proverbs 15:27 (NIV), “The greedy bring ruin to their households, but the one who hates bribes will live.”

Protect the breath! Possessions will take it. Allow Jesus to breathe life into you. Hebrews 12:24, “to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.”

In this “I’m gonna get mine” society it is better be a giver than owned by the things we have bought.

MY HEART IS STIRRED. As Karen and I prepare to minister in Virginia today, my spirit is drawn back to a quote that has long hung in my home office, a quiet but constant reminder of holy urgency:

“I preached as never sure to preach again, and as a dying man to dying men.”
Sir Richard Baxter of Kidderminster (1615–1691)

These words steady my soul every time I stand to minister. They remind me that God is not searching for polished performance, but yielded vessels, men and women who will lift high the cross and then step aside. We are nothing more than stagehands, pulling back the curtain so His glory can fill the room.

It cannot be about stage presence, personality, or applause. It must be about Him alone. And if He enters the room to commune with His people and reclaim His inheritance, then heaven has been honored and our assignment fulfilled.

“He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.”
John 3:30 (NLT)
