Did someone say KITTENS!?šŸ˜

There are so many little ones needing help and here are just a few of the next kittens we’re helping get ready for their next step in life…adoption.
If you’ve been contemplating a furry feline addition to your family, PLEASE check with an animal control/humane society/rescue near you. Adopting from a reputable program will not only get you a socialized, vaccinated, and vetted animal, it will free up kennel space for another in-need animal to start over.šŸ¾ā¤ļø

4:50 pm UPDATE: Returned home.
Marion County friends in Kell, these 2 are out romping on Kell and N. Johnson Streets. The dog is a friendly male with no collar and the female pig is keeping pace right alongside him. Last spotted in the parking lot of the Kell Grade School so if they’re yours, please go get them.

It’s time to start planning for the quickly approaching 4th of July fireworks displays and festivities…here are some great ways to help your furry friends through the fireworks.

More pets go missing on the 4th of July than any other day of the year so please make sure your animals have a safe and secure spot to be in during the many celebrations that will be happening. If you’ve got a nervous and/or anxious pet, talk with your vet about calming chews or medication. Using a radio, television, or fan to help block out the fireworks noise and giving them a toy or chew treat can definitely help keep your pet calmer and distracted.
NOW is an excellent time to make sure your dog’s collar and microchip information is updated and current. Also be sure to have recent and full body pictures of your pet for identification purpose in case they get loose.🐾

As summer rolls in and the temperatures continue to climb, please don’t take your pets on those ā€œquickā€ trips to shop. It doesn’t take long for the heat to build up inside a car…even with the windows crackedā—ļø

Salem area friends, we are asking for the owner of a brindle female mixed breed dog that was being leash walked at Bryan Mem. Park about 8:45 this morning to give us a call as soon as possible. The dog’s name may be ā€œSkyā€.

It’s adoption day for 3 of the 5 kittens we shared yesterday.
Simon and Clover’s new mom fell hard and fast for them and today she brought their new dad along for the car ride home. We’re looking forward to the pictures and updates to come and are so glad they close to adopt a shelter pet.🐾
The next adoption was a special one for sure, as Ms. Tina had recently found an orphaned kitten at her workplace. No other kittens were located and she really felt like her new little one needed a friend to grow up with. She brought him along to the shelter to meet our sweet Marble…and it was like they were just waiting to find each other. We LOVED watching them settle in and will be excited to see them grow up together.🐾
Thank you all for choosing adoption!

UPDATE: Owner has been in contact and is on the way to get him picked up. He is now microchipped and safely home.🐾

Salem area friends, this cute little bundle of energy has been picked up from the E. Boone/N. Shelby area after following a boy out on a bike ride. He’s wearing a gray collar with additional gray stripes, but unfortunately there’s no tag or microchip to help us notify the family. Please reach out with any helpful information that can get him safely home.🐾
