We’re all for staying cool this summer… but we’ll stick to the kiddie pool.😉

While temperatures are rising, Oregon’s rivers are still cold and fast-moving. Cold water shock and strong currents can quickly turn a fun day into an emergency.

Remember!
-Wear a life jacket.
-Expect cold water, even on hot days.
-Respect the current.
-Keep a close eye on kids.

Have a great and safe weekend and happy summer break!!💙

During a joint training with Salem Fire Department, we saw how their crews have had success using a tie-back system during vehicle stabilization. Our previous methods have worked well, but we recognized that adding this technique to our stabilization struts would give us another valuable tool.

One of the greatest benefits of our mutual aid partnerships is the chance to learn from each other. Working together helps all of us stay ready to serve our communities.

After adding the tie-back system to our toolbox, our crews spent time training with the new equipment!

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

This Memorial Day, we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and hold their families and loved ones in our thoughts.

This week is EMS Week, and we want to give a huge thank you to the paramedics and EMTs who serve our community every day.

No matter the time of day, our EMS crews are there responding to calls, helping people through emergencies, and caring for others during some of the toughest moments of their lives. It’s not easy work, and it takes a special kind of person to do it with the compassion, professionalism, and dedication they show every day.

To our crews at Keizer Fire and EMS providers across our community, thank you for everything you do for the people of Keizer.

This morning, Engine 355 was called to help rescue 8 ducklings that had fallen into a storm drain. Our crew was able to get all 8 ducklings out and reunite them with their mom, who was waiting nearby for their return!

Definitely a great way to start out a Thursday!🐥💙
