Oregon veteran dies helping residents evacuate Oklahoma wildfire

A firefighter and veteran from Scio died on Aug. 29 while helping a family evacuate a fast-moving wildfire in Oklahoma.

Blood type breakdown:
A- = 2
A+ = 2
B+ = 4
O- = 7
O+= 9

During the shortage O+ was our absolute lowest inventory and the biggest part of the donations at the fire district.

Nearly two dozen people donated blood at the Keizer Fire District last Friday. The Red Cross announced a blood supply crisis in July.

Career Firefighter Christopher Zammarelli and Volunteer Firefighter Cameron Vandecoevering were two of the nearly 30 people who rolled up their sleeves Friday to donate blood at a Red Cross blood drive in the Community Room of the Keizer Fire District. Lynette Komp was also on the donor list. Thanks Lyn!
