These are renewal propositions — not new taxes.

Caddo Fire District 4 currently has five highly trained and certified Wildland Firefighters ready to respond to grass, brush, and woodland fires throughout our district.

Our 15-year-old Brush 414 is a critical part of that response. The millage renewal helps ensure we can continue specialized training, maintain equipment, and replace aging apparatus when needed.

It is with great pleasure that we announce that our very own Corbin Ritch has been named the 2026 Louisiana Paramedic of the Year.

Although Corbin has been a paramedic for a relatively short time, he has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence through his dedication to learning, professional growth, and service to others. He continually seeks opportunities to improve his knowledge and skills while also stepping up to assist with in-house training, community CPR programs, and quality management initiatives.

Corbin is regularly recognized in patient care surveys for his professionalism, compassion, and exceptional care. His dedication to serving others, both in emergency situations and throughout our community, reflects the very best of our profession.

Corbin is a tremendous asset to Caddo Fire District 4, a positive influence on those around him, and a true servant to our community.

Traffic Crash Involving CFD4 Ambulance

At approximately 6:15 p.m. today, Caddo Fire District 4 Medic 410 was transporting a patient to Willis-Knighton South Hospital when it was involved in a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Colquitt Road and Dean Road.

Medic 410 was operating with emergency lights and sirens activated when it was struck on the driver’s side by an SUV driven by a female motorist.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the crash. An additional CFD4 ambulance, Medic 420, was dispatched to the scene to continue patient transport.

The crash remains under investigation by the Shreveport Police Department.

Caddo Fire District 4 would like to remind motorists to remain alert and use caution when approaching emergency vehicles operating with lights and sirens. Seconds matter when first responders are answering calls for service and transporting patients in need of emergency medical care.

Today we remember the men and women who gave everything for this country. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or a day off. It is a reminder that freedom has never been free.

At Caddo Fire District 4, we are grateful for those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation and for the families who continue to carry that loss every day.

Please take a moment today to reflect, remember, and honor those who never made it home.
