KEEGO PROUD!

I'd like to introduce you to the two Keego Harbor PD officers that responded to the Temple of Israel critical incident that occurred on 3/12/2026. Ofc. James Dennis (left) & Det. Kevin Oliver. I am so proud of these officers, as we should all be! The call came out at 12:20p (per video time stamp) for all available units to respond. Without hesitation they responded and arrived at 12:26. After linking up with their/our WBPD, OLPD & SLPD partners, they all went into the building and started to clear rooms and secure the area.

Both of these officers were the perfect ones to respond. Ofc. James Dennis is KHPD's fi****ms instructor who shoots/trains avidly and Det. Oliver is also an avid target shooter who has combat experience overseas.

We should also be so proud of ALL the assisting agencies/responders.The security detail in place at the Temple Israel are amazing heroes who immediately engaged the suspect. There were other heroes too! Ones that never get enough credit... West Bloomfield Dispatch! They did an incredible job under the circumstances. Of course we can't forget our awesome firefighters; West Bloomfield Fire Department who were on scene as well.

CASS LAKE RD IS OPEN!

During the early morning hours a vehicle struck an electric pole causing live high voltage wires to fall across all lanes of Cass Lake Rd. No injuries were reported.

"TWO LOOSE DOGS IN KEEGO!"

Good evening!

KHPD had received calls earlier today from concerned residents & motorists regarding two loose dogs resembling German Sheppards running in & out of traffic. KHPD responded to a call on Cass Lake Rd near Hensman regarding the dogs. They had no collars/tags.

Det. Oliver took them to Oakland County. They were very friendly and unharmed. It was not long after that the owner came into the station asking if anyone had called about or seen the dogs. The owner, who was visiting KH stated the dogs escaped their kennel. The owner was relieved there were no injuries to the animals and the dogs were waiting to be picked up. Safe to say, the dogs are reunited with their owner.

It's my great pleasure to introduce two of our city's new part-time officers, Officer Paul Banks and Officer Vito Salvaggio. They were both sworn-in this past Thursday at our city council meeting by City Manager, Tammy Neeb. I was delighted as Chief of Police to present their badges to them! If you happen to see them out in our city, please give them a Keego welcome! Ofc. Banks comes to us from Detroit PD, and Ofc. Salvaggio comes us from Beverly Hills Department of Public Safety. Both of these officers have unique training and experience to offer our community.

It's my pleasure to introduce Kevin Oliver as KHPD's new Detective. Det. Oliver will be taking over my former position as not only the department's investigator, but the huge responsibility of the many dynamics that comes with it. Being a "Detective" was the most fulfilling position I ever held, I loved going after "bad guys". Detective Oliver brings the same tenacity and plenty of investigative experience with him . He had been crucial in assisting me on previous sexual assault and fraud cases. Det. Oliver has 13 years of law enforcement experience, 12 years as an Army Infantryman including Miltary Police, and even spent 5 years in corrections. If you happen to run into Det. Kevin Oliver, please congratulate him!

Thanks to everyone who took part in The First Responder Easter Event at Magnolia on The Lake assisted living community.
A very special thank you to Bobby LeBlanc & Jeff Nichols (J&J Towing) for its conception and organization.
It was great to see both the West Bloomfield Fire & Police Department there, and all of the Tri-City Police Departments in attendance as well.

I thought it also served as a reminder that these are Keego Harbor residents and a part of our community.

NEW SCAM ALERT!

This is a Toll Scam. This scam comes in the mail and indicates that you were charged an out-of-state toll fee. When you call to investigate it with your smart phone or scan it, ends up obtaining information and charges you. It's similar to the "Package Box Scam" where a package or a box is delivered to your door. When you scan the code on the box to investigate why you received it, that too obtains your information and or charges you. If you receive this or something similar, toss it in the trash. Remember, these types of scams are extremely difficult to investigate.
