**UPDATE** To The ResQ posted an update on their page. This cat was sedated and the vet was able to safely remove the tire rim from his head. He's getting checked over to make sure he's otherwise ok.

It truly takes a village!!!

Today, ACO Boehning was called out to rescue a stray cat that had gotten itself in quite the pickle! The caller stated that the cat had gotten its head stuck in the rim of a spare tire😮

(Disclaimer: we aren't able to handle all stray cat complaints due to the constraints of the laws, however, we do assist in cases such as this one)

ACO Boehning responded to the scene and immediately recognized the need for more specialized equipment and resources, so, he called for assistance from the Fire department.

Harpers Ferry Fire Department showed up and used their jaws of life to extricate the cat enough so it can be safely transported to a Vet for sedation and further assistance.

ACO Boehning called on a local rescue "To The ResQ" and they've stepped up for this cat. Their volunteers have quickly mobilized and are transporting the cat to a Vet.

We are sending out a HUGE thank you to Harpers Ferry Fire department for all their help!!! These heroes answer the call to rescue animals and humans alike and we are thankful for them. We are also sending out a HUGE thank you to To The ResQ for stepping up when this cat (and so many others that we call them for) needed you most! You guys and your supporters are amazing!!

We also want to thank our citizens for their concern and help!! Some of you jumped at the opportunity to help when help was needed most! That's what makes our community the BEST because our people mobilize in all times of crisis and we stand strong together ❤️. We are grateful that we live and work here in Jefferson County WV!
