The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is hiring an Administrative Assistant for the law enforcement business office.

Must have excellent data entry skills, be able to work with the public, and in a noisy fast paced environment.

Potential responsibilities include, but are not limited to, data entry of various documents into the records management database, tracking of fees collected in Excel, waiting on the public at the window, and answering the telephone.

Salary starting at 38,000.

🚨 DEPUTIES FIND ABDUCTED CHILD 🙌 CHILD FOUND SAFE! Monongalia County Sheriff , WV deputies quickly located and safely recovered an abducted 9-year-old child after a Flock camera helped identify the vehicle. The child was unharmed and a suspect was taken into custody.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office celebrated the retirement of Lt R. S. Sell today. Lt Sell dedicated over 23 years to the citizens and visitors to Jefferson County. He began his service as a volunteer with the Reserves. After hire as a sworn member he was the valedictorian of the 119th basic class of the WV State Police Academy, a member of SWAT, performed accident reconstruction investigations, and participated in State and local youth camps. He has ensured our participation in local events has ran smoothly, such as National Night Out, Fireworks, and the Fair. Lt Sell has been a valued member of the Sheriff's Office and he will be greatly missed. We wish him and his family well as they begin their next adventure.
