Thank you to everyone that helped make this possible! The Carter Kits have been delivered to the Kearney Police Department!

What are Carter Kits? Autism Sensory bags that can be used to help calm children in a crisis situation. ❤️

A huge thank you to The Arc of Buffalo County for raising funds and purchasing Carter Kits for the Kearney Police Department and Buffalo County Sheriff's Office!

Carter Kits Sensory Bags contain calming tools designed to comfort and help children on the autism spectrum when they are overwhelmed, particularly during stressful or crisis situations. These kits will help our officers provide support and reassurance during emergency interactions.

We are grateful for this partnership and investment in the safety and well-being of the children in our community.

Tonight we hosted our Annual Meeting at Fanatics in Kearney. The agenda included awarding The Arc Angel Award to The Holiday Inn in recognition of their support for Arc activities; like our Annual Formal and Disability Pride Day. These events would not be possible without their generosity and support. Peg Sinnard was selected as The CJ Willis Award winner for her steady and empowering support of people with disabilities in Buffalo County. In addition to awarding these individuals and organiztions we recognized Dallas Fuestman as our Dream Big Award winner for 2026.

We also said Thank You to JuliAnn, our Self Advocate and Jordan Squiers our Board President for their service to the Arc as board members. Their commitment to advocacy and support of people with disabilities and championing their rights to live, work, play how and where they choose has been profoundly impactful and we will miss them!

Help us welcome new board members: Judy Trent, Lori Cody, and Peg Sinnard. We know they are eager to join in the fun and rewarding work we do to support our community and members.

Finally- a heartfelt Thank You to Fanatics Sports Bar for hosting our event.
