I then went on to Texas Christian University for college on an academic scholarship and as an invited walk-on to play soccer. After finishing my bachelor’s degree in biology and minor in chemistry, I attended UNMC, attaining my master’s of Physician Assistant. I first took a job in Lincoln and worked in general surgery. When my husband, Brandon, finished his doctorate in Physical Therapy we both t
ook jobs in Falls City, NE. While in Falls City, I was employed as an ER Provider and Hospitalist at Community Medical Center. After working there for 3 years and having our first child, we moved to Kearney. We have lived here for over 8 years and have loved it. I have since been at Kearney Regional Medical Center as a PA-C with the Hospitalist program, and Brandon has been at New West as a PT. We have two children who attend Meadowlark Elementary. In our free time, we enjoy coaching various youth sports as well as going to Harlan County Reservoir in the summer and snow skiing in the winter. Kearney has been wonderful to us, and I very much want to give back to this amazing community. I’m passionate about education and I think having a strong school system is a key component of a strong community. My mother was on the Elkhorn Public School Board for several years, so I grew up in a home where education was held as a high priority. I want to support our schools by understanding their needs and going to bat for our students and educators. By staying informed and working hard, I promise to put the time and work in necessary to be an active and contributing board member. I will stand up for what's right and represent the community of Kearney with integrity and transparency. Kearney Public Schools is a great school system, and I want to do my part to keep it great. When our students graduate and move on, my hope is that they can look back at their time here with pride and fond memories and maybe even return someday with a desire to serve the community that raised them.
