Family homelessness on Hawaiʻi Island is down 62% since 2018. Unsheltered family homelessness is down 91%.

That means more children are sleeping in safe places. More families are finding stability. More parents are able to focus on building brighter futures for their keiki.

These results from the 2026 Point-in-Time Count remind us that progress is possible when communities invest in prevention, outreach, housing support, and family-centered services.

Because every child deserves the opportunity to focus on being a child — not where they will sleep at night.
