Dinner is on us. We want to hear your manaʻo 🗣️

Join us for Manaʻo Meals: Young Parent Dinner & Talk Story, a special evening for young parents ages 18–25 in East Hawaiʻi.

Come enjoy a FREE dinner, connect with other young parents, and talk story with us about what young parents and families need in our community.

We want to hear your experiences, ideas, and hopes for young families in East Hawaiʻi.

Your manaʻo will help us better understand community needs and explore the future direction of NPP’s Parent Advisory Committee.

Young parents who participate will receive a gift card as a thank-you for sharing your time and manaʻo.

Keiki are welcome! We’ll have activities available for them during the event so you can participate while your keiki enjoy themselves, too.

Our Neighborhood Place Resource Centers in Hilo and Keaʻau are welcoming spaces where families and youth can find support, resources, and someone in their corner.

Whether someone needs help with an immediate need, is working to prevent a housing crisis, or simply isn’t sure where to begin, our team is here to help connect them with the right resources and next steps.

At our Resource Centers, community members can:
- Connect with supportive staff
- Navigate housing and stability resources
- Access family and youth support
- Get help with applications, referrals, and documentation
- Access phones, Wi-Fi, and other basic resources
- Find a safe, welcoming place to connect

Some of the most important work begins with outreach.

Our Family & Youth Street Outreach team is out in the community at least four times every week, meeting unsheltered families with minor children and unaccompanied youth ages 14–25 where they are.

During each outreach encounter, our team connects with families and youth, completes assessments, provides food and essential supplies, makes referrals to shelter, health care and housing programs, and starts conversations about what safe, stable housing can look like.
