In accordance with Utah law, Fruit Heights City is developing an ordinance to permit Detached Accessory Dwelling Units (DADUs) on lots larger than 11,000 square feet. Use the link below to read the current draft of the ordinance.
There are several public meetings regarding the DADU ordinance over the next few weeks, including a special Planning Commission Meeting on Tuesday, September 8, 7 pm at City Hall, where the Planning Commission will consider the current draft, and make changes or additions. The draft will be updated based on input from the Planning Commission, and an updated draft will be made available to the public. There will be a Public Hearing at the regular Planning Commission Meeting on Tuesday, September 22, 7 pm at City Hall. The public, as always, is encouraged to attend and share comments during this public hearing - or any public meeting. The Planning Commission will send a final version of the DADU ordinance to the City Council, who will consider the ordinance at a special DADU Council Meeting on Tuesday, September 29, 7 pm at City Hall.
