Last night shortly after 8:00 p.m., Kaysville Fire crews were dispatched to Hess Farms Park for a report of a juvenile who sustained a fall of more than 25 feet from a tree.

Upon arrival, crews found the patient in critical but stable condition. Due to the severity of the injuries, University of Utah AirMed was requested to the scene and subsequently transported the patient to a local trauma center. At the last update received, the patient remained in the same condition.

Our thoughts are with the patient and their loved ones during this difficult time.

Last night at 6:30 PM, Kaysville Fire crews were dispatched to a grass fire along southbound I-15 near mile marker 328. Upon arrival, crews found an approximately 75-foot by 20-foot area of grass burning between I-15 and the railroad tracks. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control and prevented further spread.

Local vegetation has become unseasonably dry, and agencies throughout the region are already seeing an increase in grass and brush fires. As temperatures continue to rise, we anticipate a busy summer ahead.

As a reminder, small actions can quickly lead to large fires during dry conditions. Please use caution with anything that could create sparks or open flames, and help us do our part to keep our community safe.

Kaysville Fire recently hosted a Confined Space Rescue Technician course, certifying 14 Kaysville firefighters to the technician level.

Confined space rescues involve emergencies in areas not designed for normal occupancy, such as storm drains, underground vaults, tanks, silos, and other restricted spaces. These incidents can become extremely dangerous due to hazardous atmospheres, toxic gases, limited access, and unstable conditions. Firefighters often operate on supplied air and use specialized rescue, rope, and communications equipment to safely remove trapped victims.

With the completion of this course, Kaysville Fire now has 16 firefighters trained to the Confined Space Rescue Technician level and carries specialized equipment for these incidents on our Heavy Rescue.

We would like to thank Chris Whetton and the team at Elite Technical Rescue Training LLC for another outstanding course. We also appreciate South Davis Metro Fire Service Area, Layton City Fire, and Davis and Weber Counties Canal (DWC) for providing training locations throughout the week.

We appreciate the assistance of Farmington Fire personnel at the scene. Our thoughts are with the patient and their loved ones.

That time of year has arrived once again, when our crews are busy rescuing some of Kaysville’s smallest residents from storm drains around town.

Earlier this week, A-Shift rescued a dozen baby ducklings over the course of 24 hours.

If you come across ducklings that appear to be trapped or in need of assistance, call our non-emergency dispatch line at 801-298-6000, and we will send a crew out. 👨‍🚒🐥

Last night, Firefighter/Paramedic Kelton Vine was recognized at the Kaysville City Council meeting for earning his Supervising Fire Officer designation through the Utah Fire and Rescue Academy (UFRA).

This designation requires a combination of higher education, career development, and specialized fire service training, representing years of dedication and hard work.

We are proud of Kelton for this accomplishment and look forward to his continued growth and leadership within Kaysville Fire.

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to visit our Bountiful City 911 dispatchers alongside the Kaysville Police Department in recognition of Dispatch Week. Their professionalism, calm under pressure, and constant support play a critical role in every call we respond to.

We’re grateful for their dedication to the residents of Kaysville and to the firefighters and police officers they serve every day. We couldn’t do our job without them.
