This is an example of a life-long learner. My father passed away last month and this weekend my sister and I are going through the items in his home. He was 88 years old, and these are some of the items in his office. What an amazing example of someone who never thought he was too old to learn something new. Not pictured here (I’m taking them home) Learning the Night Sky and Learning the Harmonica. What new thing are you learning right now?

When I began my Board service 3 1/2 years ago I went to lunch with some of our policy staff and I asked them what was required to do their work. They mentioned an MPA. I soon learned about the MPA program at SUU. Not only did I have friends in the program, Rep. Peterson, someone I greatly admire had also gone through the program. So for the last two years, i have worked to enhance my skills in policy development, state and local government, program evaluation, and intergovernmental relationships. Graduation was Friday! I’m excited to continue to put my new skills to the test!
