Absentee ballots for all existing absentee requests will be going out September 17. In-person absentee voting runs from October 20 – October 30 at the Municipal Services Building located at 144 W. 2nd St. There are no in-person absentee voting or registrations the day before the election. There will be a single lane closure on Tuesday, September 15 from 8:30am-2:30pm on southbound STH 55/Lawe Street, between Ducharme St. and Seymour St. in Kaukauna to make an emergency repair on a broken water service. This work also requires the closure of the sidewalk along the southbound lane of STH 55/Lawe Street, pedestrians should utilize Oviatt Street sidewalks for the duration of the work. Please also note that additional lane closures may be necessary after 5:30pm depending on the assessment of the repairs needed.

The City of Kaukauna will be smoke testing the sewer systems on Wilson Street on Thursday, September 10, starting at 9:00 AM. People traveling in the area may see plumes of smoke caused by the testing in places such as: cracks in the street, residential yards, sewer manholes, or roof vents on houses.

Smoke testing is the process of injecting artificially produced smoke into a blocked-off pipe segment to see where the smoke emerges. The smoke is not harmful to people, pets or house plants. It is not flammable and does not create a fire hazard. Crews will knock on doors prior to testing to notify residents of the testing and what to do if they notice any smoke in their homes.

Reminder: The Municipal Services Building will be closed today in observance of Labor Day.

Due to Labor Day, garbage, recycling, and fall tire collection will occur September 8-11, 2026. Collections will be as follows:

Monday – City Hall & Street Department Closed
Tuesday – Monday garbage, recycling, and tire collection
Wednesday – Tuesday garbage, recycling, and tire collection
Thursday – Wednesday garbage, recycling, and tire collection
Friday – Thursday garbage, recycling, and tire collection

Our Street Department will collect a maximum of four (4) tires from each residential location; rims must be removed. Tires still mounted on rims will NOT be picked up. This service is for residences only; business tires are not eligible for pick-up. Tires should be placed out by 7:00am.
