📣 MABAS Water Hauling Drill — A Resounding Success

On behalf of Vandenbroek Fire, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who participated in Tuesday night's water hauling drill. The exercise was a tremendous success by every measure.

With 14 tenders, participating crews demonstrated exceptional coordination and skill, successfully sustaining an uninterrupted water relay — from Wrightstown's Engine to Kaukauna's Aerial — for a full 60 minutes. Over the course of the drill, a combined total of 93,100 gallons were pumped, a remarkable achievement that speaks to the professionalism and dedication of every department involved.

This type of regional training is vital to ensuring our collective readiness, and Tuesday night's results are a testament to what our mutual aid partnerships are capable of. We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part.

We look forward to building on this success and doing it all again next year. Thank you all once more — it is truly an honor to train alongside such outstanding departments.

Press Release
Multi‑Vehicle Crash – I‑41 Northbound

At approximately 3:47 p.m., Vandenbroek Fire Department, City of Kaukauna Fire Department Ambulance, Kaukauna-Vandenbroek First Responders, Outagamie County Sheriff's Office and Wisconsin State Patrol were dispatched to I‑41 northbound, just south of Highway U, for a report of a vehicle accident with injuries. Initial information indicated that an occupant may have been trapped therefore Wrightstown Fire Department was also requested.

Upon arrival, crews found a six‑vehicle crash involving one semi‑tractor trailer, two pickup trucks pulling trailers, and three passenger vehicles. Despite the severity of the incident, no injuries were reported.

Due to the extent of the damage, the severity of the crash, and the significant amount of fluid spilled, the scene required extensive cleanup operations. Vandenbroek Fire remained on scene for approximately three hours before clearing.

Thank you to Fox City's Towing, LLC and Outagamie County Highway Department for their assistance clearing the scene.

Today, our department took delivery of a new Pierce Saber Pumper, which will replace our current 1990 International two‑seat unit that has faithfully served the Towns of Vandenbroek and Kaukauna for many years.

Over the next several weeks, our members will be training on the new apparatus to ensure full operational readiness before it is placed into service.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Town Boards of Vandenbroek and Kaukauna for their continued support in making this important purchase possible.
