Beginning today, Friday, June 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., MB Western Construction Company, will continue to work on the water line offsets as a part of the Village Green West Drainage Improvements Project.

While this work is being performed, residents on Elder Road between Caloro Lane and the drainage ditch located approximately 350 feet north of Village Green Drive may experience water service interruptions.

All services are expected to be restored within approximately four (4) hours from when the work begins.

📢Expect traffic dealys on IH-10 westbound near Katy Fort Bend Road due to an overturned 18-wheeler.

Current reported impacts:

-Three IH-10 Westbound main lanes blocked
-IH-10 Westbound entrance ramp from Katy Fort Bend Road closed
-Significant traffic delays expected in the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce

𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂 𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐑𝐓: 𝐈𝐇-𝟏𝟎 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐲 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝

Drivers should expect major traffic delays on IH-10 Westbound near Katy Fort Bend Road due to a serious motor vehicle accident just outside the City of Katy limits. An overturned 18-wheeler is currently blocking three main lanes of IH-10 Westbound, causing significant disruption. The entrance ramp to IH-10 Westbound before Katy Fort Bend Road is also closed.

This incident, occurring near Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital, is expected to cause increased congestion on City of Katy side streets as traffic diverts. Please plan alternate routes, allow extra travel time, and drive cautiously.

Later today, Wednesday, June 3, 2026. A third-party contractor for CenterPoint will be performing a controlled flame to abandon a gas main near the intersection of Katy Hockley Road & Clay Road. Residents may witness a brief flame in the sky; please be advised this is a controlled process.

This has been postponed due to the yesterday’s heavy rainfall and today’s forecasted weather conditions.

The work will be rescheduled for a future date when site conditions are suitable for the contractors to continue with the wet connects.

The City of Katy Water Department will be conducting hydrant flushing throughout the City on Monday, June 1st, and Tuesday, June 2nd.

It’s important to note that residents in the immediate vicinity of hydrant flushing may experience temporary discoloration of their water. This discoloration is harmless and does not affect water safety. However, residents are advised to check the water clarity before doing laundry, as staining may occur.

If you notice discoloration in your water after hydrant flushing in your neighborhood, you can clear the pipes in your home by running all interior and exterior water faucets for a few minutes.

Residents between Village Green Drive and Calora Lane, including those along Village Park Drive, Village Way Drive, Village Oak Drive, Village Arbour Drive, and Elder Road, may experience water service interruptions. Service is expected to be restored by approximately 4:00 p.m.

There will be a water service interruption tomorrow, Thursday, May 28th, beginning at 8:00 a.m. The City of Katy Water Department will be repairing a water service line due to a leak.

Residents and businesses on Avenue A between 1st and 5th Street will be affected. Service is expected to be restored by approximately 1:00 p.m.
