Today, HCESD 48 honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation. 🇺🇸

This Memorial Day, we reflect on the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave their lives to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

From all of us at HCESD 48, we thank our fallen heroes and their families. Please take a moment today to remember and honor them.

🌀 Hurricane season starts June 1 — Are you prepared?

HCESD 48 encourages residents who may need extra assistance during an emergency to register with the STEAR Program (State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry).

The STEAR Program helps local emergency management officials identify residents who may need additional assistance during evacuations or disasters, including individuals who:

✔️ Have disabilities or access/functional needs
✔️ Require medical equipment or electricity
✔️ Need transportation assistance during an evacuation
✔️ Are elderly or have mobility challenges

Registering ahead of time helps emergency officials better plan and respond during emergencies.

If you or someone you know may need assistance, consider registering before hurricane season begins.
