Today we hosted an Emergency Services ATV/UTV Operator Training Course instructed by Tyler and Daniel from Moshannon Valley EMS. 20 fire and EMS providers from Karthaus Fire, Karthaus Ambulance, LeContes Mills Fire Company 21, Pine Glen Fire Company, Irvona Fire Company, and Summerville Volunteer Firemens Association attended.
Training topics included not only safely operating a UTV or ATV, but maintaining it, choosing the correct PPE, and planning. After the classroom portion. Attendees headed to an area to practice driving the vehicles up and down hills, across uneven terrain, through wooded areas, and through thick mud and water.
We appreciate Tyler, Daniel, and all the attendees for giving up their Sunday to head to Karthaus to teach and learn.

Station 20 was alerted to a vehicle accident on Rolling Stone Road this evening. Chief 20 responded to scene to one passenger car rolled over with no injuries. Karthaus and Mo Valley EMS responded along with PSP. Pine Glen and Morris Township Fire Companies were cancelled per Chief 20.

Each year, our Annual Backwoods Revival Concert helps us raise funds to invest back into the things that matter most. . our fire company and the community we proudly serve.

As we start planning for this year’s fundraising goal, we’d love to hear from you so we can set our goal thermometer like we did last year.

If you are a resident along the route from Big M Garage to the Firehall and would like to welcome others to watch from your yard:

Today at 04:37 crews were alerted to an Automatic Fire Alarm at Nydree Flooring. Chief 20 arrived on scene to confirm a working fire in the dust storage building. Karthaus, Pine Glen,
Morris Township, Grassflat and Winburne Fire Companies were dispatched along with Karthaus EMS and Mo Valley EMS. Snow Shoe, LeContes Mills and Lawrence Township Fire Companies were cancelled per Chief 20's request. Thank you to all the mutual aid companies who responded.

🚨 Controlled Burn Notice 🚨

The Pennsylvania Game Commission will be conducting a large controlled burn today on the north side of Quehanna Highway near Ardell Road, starting today around 12:00 PM.

With clear skies, smoke will be visible from a long distance, so please don’t be alarmed if you see it in the area.

As always, if you see smoke, there’s a good chance it’s from this planned burn. However, if you notice fire or smoke anywhere outside of this area or something doesn’t seem right, please call 911 directly — do not contact a fire company member.

Happy Birthday to our Chief 20! 🎉🚒

This month is also 10 years as Chief… which means he’s been in charge AND telling the same jokes for a full decade now 😅

From longtime member to wearing just about every hat possible.. Deputy, Secretary, Trustee, Jr. firefighter trainer, guitar player, DJ, fire truck driver… and full-time station comedian.. there’s not much he hasn’t done.

No matter the time, the call, or the situation… he’s there. And somehow… so is a joke (ready or not 😂).

Whether it’s 2am and we’re half asleep or just trying to get through a meeting… you can count on Chief to show up, step up, and lighten the mood, whether we asked for it or not 😆

All jokes aside (well… kinda), we are beyond grateful for your leadership, your dedication, and everything you’ve poured into this company over the years.

Enjoy your day, Chief… and don’t worry.. we’ll still laugh at your jokes today… even the bad ones 😜🔥
