We’re excited to welcome a new business to Karnes City!

A new RV park is officially open and ready to serve visitors, workers, and travelers passing through our community. We always love seeing small, family owned businesses choose Karnes City to invest in and call home.

Every new business adds to the growth and success of our town, creating opportunities and helping strengthen our local economy.

As a reminder, whenever possible, shop local, eat local, and support local. Your support helps small businesses thrive and keeps our community growing for generations to come.

Welcome to Karnes City, and best wishes for continued success!

If you’ve noticed the dust flying and all the movement at the old Sonic… it’s because something yummy is headed our way. 👀

We’re excited to welcome Pollos Asados El Guero to Karnes City! This will be their third location opened since March 2025, with plans to continue expanding across Texas.

Looks like Karnes City made the list for good food and big flavor. Stay tuned for more updates as they get settled in!

This week, Mayor Rosales, Mayor Pro Tem Loya, and City Manager Veronica Butler are attending the Texas Municipal League Small Town Conference in Bastrop.

The TML Small Town Conference is designed specifically for city officials and staff serving Texas communities with populations of 15,000 or less. This conference provides valuable opportunities to learn, collaborate, and bring back new ideas that help strengthen and improve our community.

We are proud to see our city leadership continuing to invest in the future of Karnes City through education, networking, and forward thinking for our residents.

Also on March 24th, it was voted unanimously to give our basketball courts a makeover! 🏀

We are thankful for our Parks Board collaborating with the City on this project and for their continued commitment to improving our community spaces. These courts have been enjoyed by generations of all ages, and we look forward to seeing them continue to be used year round for many years to come.

Having active Parks Boards and 4B Boards that consistently work alongside the City is such a wonderful thing. Progress doesn’t happen overnight, it happens one project at a time, with people who truly care about the future of Karnes City. We’re proud to keep building together!

We’re excited to officially share that on March 24th, it was unanimously approved to move forward with the construction of TWO new pickleball courts for our community!

This project has been a long time in the making, with lots of planning and collaboration alongside our gracious 4B Board. Year after year, they continue investing in our kids, our families, and the growth of our community, and we are incredibly grateful for their continued support.

We can’t wait to see these courts filled with friendly competition, summer evenings, and players of all ages enjoying time together. Big things are coming, and this is just one more step toward building an even stronger community for everyone.

We’re hiring‼️ If you have any questions, please call the City Hall (830) 780-3422.

This week, the City of Karnes City proudly recognizes National Police Week . A week in which we honor, remember and celebrate the men and women of law enforcement and pay immense tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Each year across the United States, thousands of law enforcement officers are seriously injured and approximately 150 never make it home to their loved ones. This is why, in 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed Public Law 87-726, officially establishing May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which it falls as National Police Week.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the members of the Karnes City Police Department for their unwavering commitment to keeping our neighborhoods safe. Their service, often carried out under challenging and unpredictable circumstances plays a vital role in the well-being of our city.

Respect. Honor. Remember

The City of Karnes City is excited to announce that over the next few weeks, you will begin seeing crews from AEP Texas in our downtown area upgrading existing street lights to new LED lighting.

Following a light study completed in March, we are proud to move forward with these improvements that will help increase visibility, efficiency, and safety throughout our community.

While we do our best to monitor street lights across town, we know we can’t always catch every outage right away. If you notice a street light that is not working, please make note of the location and contact City Hall so we can report it promptly.

Your safety remains a priority, and keeping Karnes City well lit and welcoming is an important part of serving our community. Thank you for helping us keep our city shining bright!
