Waiʻanae Mountains Watershed Partnership

Waiʻanae Mountains Watershed Partnership Currently, close to 50% of water used by Wai‘anae communities is brought in from the Pearl Harbor Hydrologic Unit with rainfall decreasing annually.

WMWP is a Watershed Partnership comprised of federal, state, county and
private landowners voluntarily working together to preserve the natural and
cultural resources of the Waianae Mountains. Feral ungulates (cattle, goats and pigs); habitat altering, invasive weed species; wildfire; poor management practices and other human impact has negatively impacted the Waianae Mountains causing a devastating loss of native dominant forests important for water recharge.
