Happy National First Responders Day! 🚒🚑🚔
We’re grateful for every member of our fire department and for the first responders in the surrounding departments, law enforcement, and EMS who serve our communities.
We know that responding to calls and attending meetings are only part of your lives. You balance your service with jobs, family, and other commitments, and we truly appreciate the time, effort, and dedication you give.
Thank you for showing up for our community and for one another. We appreciate you all!

When you pass by the station you will notice the large sign above the door and the no parking signs on the bay doors have been removed. We are having the station pressure washed and repainted. The old paint has faded and it’s time to freshen it up. Weather permitting, it will be all done in a few weeks!

Kansas fire would like to thank Kansas Police Department, Cherokee Nation EMS and First Flight for their response and excellent teamwork on our call earlier today. Teamwork starts with our dispatch getting all of the information and dispatching all necessary resources. Thank you to all involved!

Our volunteer spotlight this time around is our Fire Chief Donny Jorgensen! Our Chief has served the town of Kansas and surrounding areas for many years. He can regularly be seen around town helping others in their worst times. He and his wife own Baker boutique in town. Years of service requires a dedication that can help not be sustained by having a supportive spouse and family. Chief Jorgensen is a paramedic, certified CPR instructor and certified to teach a multitude of classes for fire and EMS responders. The amount of people who have been helped and taught by Donny is unmeasurable.
Kansas Fire recognizes the commitment you and your family have made to the Kansas and surrounding areas and thanks you for all you do!
