🦖 June marks the beginning of a summer full of adventure at the library! Our 2026 Summer Reading theme, Unearth a Story, is bringing dinosaurs, discovery, performers, hands-on events, and fun for all ages all summer long! 🌋📚

Don’t forget to sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge on Beanstack and start earning prizes for reading this summer!

The fun starts Thursday, May 28th at our Summer Reading Kickoff from 9:30AM-11AM with donuts, games, and our Jurassic Meat & Greet event! 🌭🦕 Come dig into a dino-mite summer with us!

ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!

Join us for a dino-sized Meat and Greet at our Summer Reading kickoff. Meet our Dino Ranger and come face to face with an adult dinosaur and a dino baby. Take photos, ask questions, and learn some roar worthy facts. You can also register for the Summer Reading Challenge while you are here. Grab a donut or a sausage roll, play yard games, try temporary tattoos, and enjoy all the fun. It is all free as we launch Summer Reading 2026.

May is here and we’re turning the page toward summer at the library!

We’re keeping things a little lighter this month as we get ready for Summer Reading, but there is still plenty to enjoy when you stop in.

This year’s Summer Reading theme is “Unearth a Story”, and let’s just say… you might spot some dinosaur-sized fun stomping into the library soon.

Be sure to join us for our Summer Reading Kickoff on Thursday, May 28 at 9:30 AM. We’ll have donuts and sausage rolls, games, and plenty of Jurassic excitement for all ages.

ATTENTION: Our children's stage needs a new home! No fees required, but we always appreciate donations. If you or someone you know is interested, please call us at 918-221-0410 or speak to staff in person at the Kansas Public Library during open hours.

Please note: The stage has been deconstructed, but some pieces are still heavy and take up space. Transportation methods will be solely reliant on those who are interested in taking the item. Thank you!
