On the 25th anniversary of the terror attacks on 9/11/2001, members of the Platte County Sheriff's Office completed a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb to honor the 1st responders and victims of the terror attacks. Participants had to climb 110 stories, which is the equivalent to 2,200 steps. During their climb each participant carried with them a biography of a FDNY Firefighter who lost their life in the line of duty that day.

The Sheriff's Office would like to thank an outstanding community partner, GoldKey Alliance, for hosting the event.

Today marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. A quarter-century has passed, but we will never forget the 2,983 innocent lives lost, the incredible bravery of the first responders who ran toward danger, and the resilience that united a nation.

Today and every day, we stand with the families, survivors, and all those whose lives were forever changed.
