If you were unable to attend today’s lecture at UMKC, don’t forget to stop by Haag Hall soon. Quintanilla’s murals are an amazing piece of Spanish history in our own city.

Our Story

60 years ago we began continuing the work of a forward-looking Kansas Citian and an American president. It seems clear that Joyce Hall and President Eisenhower would be proud of the care Kansas City has taken to preserve their legacy.

The Sister City Association of Kansas City (SCAKC) coordinates the relationships between the City and its 13 “sisters” on four continents on behalf of the City Council and Mayor.

How KC Sister Cities Came to Be

Over 60 years ago, a forward-looking Kansas Citian, President Eisenhower, partnered with civic leaders such as Kansas City’s own Joyce Hall to create people-to-people and sister city affiliations around the world to “help build the solid structure for world peace”. The Sister City Association of Kansas City coordinates relationships between Kansas City and its 13 “sisters” on 4 continents.
