We are so thankful to have been a part of the B.L.O.C.K. Party and Wellness Fair hosted by the KU Center of African American Heath. It was such a great time and a wonderful way to honor the legacy of such a great man. There were so many great organizations, community leaders, and just community in general. We really want to thank Oliva from Health Blue KC for helping us load up and set up. Tonight really was an evening of outreach, community, and kinship!

Thank you to the Kansas FORGE Fathorhood program and Eric from Cornerstones of Care having us out to table with them today at the Community Resource fair at the West branch of Kansas City, Kansas Public Library. We will be here till 3pm today.

This month our Executive Director Maximilian Mendoza had the opportunity to be a panelist at the WYCO Substance Use Summit. He was invited to Speak on the panel to discussing youth substance abuse in Wyandotte County. He had the opportunity to share what we’re seeing with the youth as a youth service provider and share about the services that we provide to our community. We are so thankful to the WYCO Recovery Collective for providing the opportunity for him participating on the panel and for being able to our work with them on the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). If you are interested in joining the WYCO Recovery Collective, we meet on the 3rd Monday of the month (except holidays) at 2pm virtually or in person. Our next meeting is on September 21st. If you would like to participate in the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP): Behavioral Health action team, they meet every quarter and the next meeting is October 21st at 2pm virtually.
