A milestone more than a decade in the making. 🇺🇸

Thank you to KSHB 41 and Megan Abundis for highlighting the completion of Valor House (Phase III) and the impact it's having for veterans in our community.

With 179 affordable homes now available on our campus, we're proud to continue proving that housing, supportive services, and community work together to help veterans thrive.

Veteran homelessness is decreasing, but the work isn’t done.

In 2024, more than 32,000 veterans still experienced homelessness in the U.S., according to NVHS data. That's an 8% decrease from the prior year.

Progress matters. But so does persistence.

At St. Michael’s Veterans Center, we’re committed to being part of the solution by providing housing and the support systems that make stability possible. We are proud to contribute to the more than 51,000 veterans nationally who were permanently housed in 2025 through our affordable housing campus.

“The legacy of heroes is the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example.”
— Benjamin Disraeli

At St. Michael’s Veterans Center, we see that legacy every day in the lives of the veterans we serve and the examples they continue to set. 🇺🇸

Their service didn’t end when they came home. And neither does their impact.

On Memorial Day, we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

Their sacrifice is the foundation of the freedoms we live with every day.

We pause in gratitude and in remembrance. 💙

The average veteran experiencing homelessness today is over 50 years old and often living with a disability.

This isn’t just about housing.

It’s about health, aging, and making sure those who served aren’t left behind later in life.

At St. Michael’s Veterans Center, we’re committed to walking alongside our veterans every step of the way and ensuring not only that they are supported through safe, affordable housing, but have access to our wrap-around services, too. 🏘

More insights about the strong connection between veterans and homelessness can be found from the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, here: https://nchv.org/veteran-homelessness/

How many homeless veterans are there? Although flawless counts are impossible to come by—owing to the transient nature of homeless populations—the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s January 2024 Point-in-Time (PIT) count estimated 32,882 veterans were experiencing homelessness ...

Mental health isn’t just about treatment - it’s about connection.

At St. Michael’s, we see every day how community plays a role in healing, from a conversation in the coffee shop or a shared meal, to reaching out to a neighbor who understands.

For veterans, these moments matter. They reduce isolation, build trust, and create a sense of belonging. 🇺🇸

This Mental Health Awareness Month, let’s remember: no one should have to navigate their struggles alone.

A day at the ballpark and a memory our veterans won’t forget. ⚾🇺🇸

Thank you to the Kansas City Royals for hosting our veterans this weekend and providing such a special experience. From great seats to great company, it was a day filled with connection, community, and a lot of cheering.

And to top it off, witnessing Bobby Witt Jr. hit an in-the-park home run made it even more unforgettable. 🌟

We’re grateful for partners like the Royals who continue to show up for those who have served. 💙
