Statewide Recommendations
✅ Amendment 3 — Vote YES
Restores critical health and safety protections that current law lacks. It reinstates more than 50 standards for reproductive health care, requires parental consent for minors, protects the right to sue for malpractice, injury, or death, and requires physicians or licensed medical technicians to provide care in licensed facilities. It also limits abortion to cases of medical emergency, fetal anomaly, and rape/incest under 12 weeks while prohibiting gender transition procedures for minors.
❌ Amendment 6 — Vote NO
A direct assault on our republican form of government. It replaces elected officials with an extreme version of direct democracy, hands power to special interests and lobbyists through the initiative process, and requires an 80% majority in both the House and Senate before the legislature can refer any correction back to voters—making fixes nearly impossible.
✅ Amendment 7 — Vote YES
Creates the permanent Show-Me Prosperity Fund endowment. Investment earnings are dedicated to long-term tax relief and smaller government instead of new spending, providing a path to replace state taxes over time.
✅ Amendment 8 — Vote YES
Protects the election of county sheriffs in the Missouri Constitution. Sheriffs remain accountable to the people, not appointed boards or county executives, and are shielded from political removal.
✅ State Proposition A (Missouri First Map) — Vote YES
Approves the 2025 House Bill 1 congressional map that keeps more counties intact.
Kansas City Regional Local Issue Recommendations
❌Clay County Prop A - Vote NO
This charter amendment touches multiple sections of the new Clay County charter from 2020, all under one vote. By applying pressure on the County Commission to vote for a substantial budgetary increase to provide benefits and salary increases without a funding mechanism (that means higher local property or sales taxes!) As seniors are already subject to property tax freezes, this invariably applies disproportionate taxation pressure toward young families, couples, and singles in the area. Let's grow the county, not push new residents out!
⚖️ Oppose Retention of Paul C. Wilson — Missouri Supreme Court Justice
He wrote the majority opinion placing the 2024 abortion amendment on the ballot (allowing abortion on demand, removing parental consent for minors, and allowing sex-change operations for minors), and the court ruled against Senate Bill 22, which limited courts' ability to rewrite ballot language.
