This Memorial Day, we would like to take a moment to reflect on and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may continue to enjoy the freedoms and opportunities of this wonderful nation. Their courage, service, and selflessness will never be forgotten. In recognition of the National Moment of Remembrance, we encourage everyone to join Americans across the country in pausing at 3:00 p.m. local time for one minute of silence to honor and remember our fallen service members.

The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is hosting its D-Day commemorative matches taking place June 4–7th at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park.

The four-day event includes a JCG As-Issued CMP Games Match, along with the special Ironman Garand-only EIC Rifle Match, giving competitors a unique opportunity to earn Distinguished Rifleman points featuring categories for As-Issued & Match Conditioned M1 Garand rifles. Additional vintage military matches will be conducted throughout the event.

The GCA Board of Directors once again has voted to allocate $20,000 for the John C. Garand Scholarship. Our funding is carefully and thoughtfully managed by the CMP Scholarship Committee. These scholarships have focused year after year on youth, which are the future of both organizations. As a 501(c)(7) non-profit club, the GCA is very proud to participate yet again in this worthy endeavor.
