On May 27, 2026, the Wyandotte County Sheriff's Office, led by the agency's SERT team, carried out a comprehensive facility-wide search in coordination with personnel from Johnson County and the Lansing Correctional Facility SORT Team.

Collaboration and teamwork among law enforcement and correctional agencies are vital to the growth and development of our communities. We value the partnerships between agencies that make coordinated initiatives like this possible.

We look forward to maintaining and expanding these collaborations with partnering agencies.

We are truly grateful for the strength and unity of our community and neighbors. It is important that we come together to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

A special thank you to the FOP Lodge 40 for their dedication and hard work in organizing this meaningful event, and to Chris Stewart for singing for us. We also want to extend our appreciation to Mayor Watson and all our officials for attending.

Thank you all for standing with us in remembrance and solidarity. Together, we keep the memory of our brothers and sisters in blue alive. 💙
