This morning, 7 members of the Grandview Fire Department participated in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

These individuals climbed for 7 different FDNY firefighters who were killed when the World Trade Center towers collapsed on September 11, 2001.

They climbed 110 floors in full gear.

We are proud of them for representing Grandview and continuing to remember the fallen.

Grandview Firefighters are proud to partner with Price Chopper to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) and families living with muscular dystrophy, ALS, and other neuromuscular diseases.

Throughout the weekend, Grandview Firefighters will be out collecting donations and working to Fill the Boot for MDA!

Every donation—big or small—helps support research, care, and resources for individuals and families affected by neuromuscular disease.

Grandview Firefighters | Fill the Boot for MDA

Grandview Fire Department Station 1 is currently undergoing several facility improvements, including sewer repairs, flooring repairs, interior painting, and a new roof.

During construction, emergency response units normally assigned to Station 1 will temporarily respond from Stations 2 and 3. These temporary changes will allow construction to move forward safely while ensuring emergency response services continue without interruption.

Station 1 administrative offices will remain open during construction. Residents needing to conduct administrative business may continue to visit the administrative offices at Station 1 as usual.

We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding while these necessary repairs and improvements are completed.

Grandview and Kansas City are currently on scene of a working house fire in the 6800 block of 123rd Street in Grandview.

Last night around 9 pm, crews were alerted to a house fire on 119th Terrace in the northern part of Grandview.

Once on scene, a kitchen fire was located and extinguished.

No injuries were reported.

A walk to remember. Join Grandview Firefighters and Police Officers for a memorial walk the morning of September 11th to mark the 25th anniversary. The walk begins at Fire Station No. 1, 7005 at 8:46AM. Everyone is invited.

Pumper 722 is currently on scene of an overturned tractor trailer on Southbound 71 Hwy just south of Blue Ridge Blvd.

Southbound traffic is reduced to 1 lane at this time.
