Happy Father’s Day from the Grandview Fire Department!

Today we recognize the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, and father figures who make a difference in the lives of their families and our community. We are especially grateful for the fathers serving in our department who balance the demands of the fire service with the responsibilities of parenthood.

Thank you for your dedication, sacrifice, and unwavering support both at home and on the job.

Have a safe and wonderful Father’s Day!

Check out this first-person vantage of Pumper 721 responding , arriving on scene, deploying an attack line and establishing a water supply on this morning’s fire.

It is worthy to note that just 60 seconds before the video starts, all members of the crew were asleep in their bunks. And more impressive is that just 4 short minutes after waking up, this crew is putting water on a rapidly growing fire.

As always, we are proud to serve our community and the surrounding area.

Early this morning, at approximately 1:20 am, Pumper 721 was alerted to a report of an unknown type fire in the 6400 Block of 127th Street.

Dispatchers from KCFD were gathering more information from the 911 caller as Pumper 721’s crew was waking up and heading to the truck, and upgraded the call to a House Fire and then a possible Outbuilding Fire.

Pumper 721 arrived on scene approximately 3 minutes after being dispatched and reported heavy fire coming from a carport and garage with 3 additional vehicles involved underneath the carport.

The call was upgraded to a working fire and additional equipment was dispatched from KCFD.

Crews worked for approximately an hour. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and there are no injuries to report.
