Every minute matters, every day counts!

September is Attendance Awareness Month, and KCPS is working to improve chronic absenteeism with the Every Minute Matters Campaign ⏰

Regular attendance is vital for students to meet their learning goals and graduate on time.

KCPS is working to remove attendance barriers through strong partnerships with students, families, educators, and the community.

We're excited to kick off our new season of Royals Literacy League, which brings Kansas City Royals players and employees into our classrooms to support our students in their reading journeys!

Many of our schools kicked off the new season with a special tour of Kauffman Stadium, which included looks at the dugout, batting cages, fitness area, press box, and Diamond Club!

Thank you, The Kansas City Royals Foundation!!

Special shoutout to our tour guides, including Ms. Vicki Saviano, longtime former Whittier Elementary teacher who is now a tour guide at Kauffman! : )

Stories straight from a KCPS classroom:

"One of the most meaningful things to happen in my classroom as a first year teacher was winning a grant that allowed me to create an Aldi pop-up store for my students."

"This experience brought real-world learning into the classroom as students practiced numerical expression, budgeting, making purchasing decisions, and applying math skills to everyday situations."

"It was exciting to see students engaged in this opportunity."

—Ms. Abad, Trailwoods Elementary
