Mission House

Mission House is a ministry that consists of a group of college-aged young adults who have committed to doing urban ministry while living in community with like-minded people. One of the main desires of Mission House is to be able to provide stability for what God is already doing in Kansas City by being the hands and feet for existing ministries. We are currently teaming with three well-established non-profit organizations to provide full-time unpaid staff for their growing needs. Our availability and willingness allows us to create relationships while being a part of God’s existing movement in our community. During this one-year period Mission House participants will be delegated responsibilities to create an element of accountability and cohesiveness among the Mission House community. The largest elements for personal growth at Mission House happen by living in community, living minimally and learning from each other as we serve on the front lines of real urban ministry. This makes for a 24/7 process of exploring how we can better be the Church that Jesus taught about. Although Mission House is based on being an outwardly focused missional community, we strive to remember and practice that ministry does not take a time-out and is as important at home with other believers as it is out in the rest of the world.
