Twenty-five years later, we remember.

The Kansas City Kansas Fire Department, Kansas City Kansas Police Department, and Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office invite our community and all Unified Government departments to join us for our September 11 Memorial Ceremony.

On Friday, September 11, we will gather at Memorial Hall to honor the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, remember the first responders and civilians who answered the call, and reflect on the sacrifice and unity that followed that day.

This weekend, members of the Kansas City Kansas Fire Department took part in the 2026 Kansas City 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, climbing 110 floors in remembrance of the firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

Each step represents more than a number. It is a reminder of the 343 FDNY firefighters who climbed into danger while thousands of others were trying to escape.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to climb.

We climb to remember their courage.
We climb to honor their sacrifice.
We climb so their names and their stories are never forgotten.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors ❤️

Today, Kansas City Kansas Fire Department members and recruits joined Convoy of Hope and community volunteers at Klamm Park to distribute food, bottled water, and hygiene supplies to families affected by last week’s storm.

Hundreds of meal boxes and essential supplies reached neighbors in need.

We’re grateful to Convoy of Hope, our nonprofit partners, and every volunteer helping KCK move forward. Recovery takes time, but our community continues to show the power of neighbors supporting one another.

We’re proud to be part of it.
