CAMP CLARK, Nevada, Mo. – “Get It Done!” This is the motto of the 110th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, and that is exactly what the soldiers did during a blood drive held at Camp Clark during annual training.
The Soldiers ended up donating 33 units of blood to the American Red Cross out of Springfield, Missouri.
For many, this was their first-time donating blood. Specialist Chelsea Roothame, a supply specialist (92Y), stated, “This is the right thing to do, and it feels good to help possibly save a life.”
Another first-time donor, Specialist Waylon Orourke, an IT Specialist (25B), said, “It's wonderful knowing that my blood will be going to people in need.”
For other Soldiers, this was not their first time, like Sergeant First Class Nathan King, a Recruiting and Retention NCO (79T). “The better part of me wants to serve others and know I’m doing something to help. I think this blood drive is an amazing way to help the local community.”
Millie West, the drive lead phlebotomist from the American Red Cross, said this is the second year in a row that they've come to Camp Clark, and she is overwhelmed with appreciation seeing so many Soldiers give back to the community.
