The story of the involvement of Catholic Sisters in the Selma marches is told in the documentary film "Sisters of Selma: Bearing Witness for Change." This film, and its related materials, are held in Avila's Women Religious Special Collections.

Blasco Hall, which houses Avila’s administrative offices, was constructed in 1965. Later renovations created the Jeanne Hamilton Olofson Plaza with fountains and a bricked walkway bearing the names of Sisters who served at Avila.
